Aboard the Harbor Town Belle!
In July, we cruised the lake and Irondequoit Bay on an 80 foot paddle wheel boat. The “Belle” was built on the banks of the Genesee River in 1998. We enjoyed a picnic buffet and many great sights, some of which are offered below.

Heather Heights of Pittsford recently had the honor of hosting Joyce Madar, President of the Blue Star Mothers of NY, Chapter #1, located in Canandaigua. Robyn Voorhees, a vital member of the Heather Heights recreation team, who arranged the visit, has been a part of the organization since her son served in Iraq as part of the 10th Mountain Division from Fort Drum, NY. As part of our "Expanding Your Mind" program, Joyce educated us on what the Blue Star Mothers are all about, and the important role they play in the lives of our service men and women, especially those who are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

A group of Heather Heights veterans recently visited the Sampson Navy and Airforce Museum on the shores of Seneca Lake. It was our honor to bring a group of Heather Heights veterans to Sampson for a visit. Before touring the museum, the group had lunch at the Belhurst Castle in Geneva. Seeing the exhibits brought back a lot of memories for some of the veterans. At Heather Heights of Pittsford, we honor our Armed Service members, past and present, for the sacrifices they made for our freedoms.
